  • Christmas "Out There" Opportunity
Want to help make a difference in the lives of others this Christmas season? Looking for a great way to get Out There with your life group? Momentum is partnering this Christmas with Connecting Henry, a non-profit organization that aids local families through their annual Community Christmas Program. Community Christmas is an effort to serve families by purchasing Christmas gifts for children in the home who are 16 years old or younger. Participants can also provide a Christmas dinner and/or gifts for the adults in the home. We are excited about being able to get Out There this Christmas by partnering with this incredible effort to help make a difference in families in our community. If you are interested in participating in the Community Christmas Program you can call 770-288-6230, or go to https://hcwebb.boca.co.henry.ga.us/connectinghenry/christmas.aspx.

Second Step is part of our new format for introducing people to Momentum, along with our More on Momentum gatherings. Your first step at Momentum is to attend the More on Momentum gathering to hear our story and vision. Once you feel like Momentum is where God is leading you, your next step would be the Second Step Gathering.

Here we will talk about being a Follower of Christ, introduce you to Life Groups, and talk about Partnership with Momentum. Who should attend? Anyone who has signed up for life groups, or anyone who is ready to partner with Momentum. Even if you are already in a life group and have not attended a More on Momentum before, we encourage you to attend this gathering.

The gathering will be held on December 2nd, from 4:30-6:30 PM. Childcare will be available up through 5th grade, and we need you to register for the gathering ahead of time; you can register at the Pipeline. If you have any further questions please contact Seth Hoover or Bart Stone - seth@momentumcc.org / bart@momentumcc.org / 678.783.1275.

Student Life Groups are kicking off! At Momentum we believe that doing life together with others is a vital part of growing in our faith. This is also true for students. We focus on getting our middle school and high school students in Life Groups with students the same age, and with leaders who can pour into their lives. Our Student Life Groups meet on Sunday afternoons from 4:30 - 6:00 PM.

New Student Life Groups are kicking off this Sunday, November 11th. If you are a student interested in getting into a Student Life Group, or are an adult interested in helping lead a Life Group, or would like more information about the kick-off event, please contact Jodi Stone - jodi.stone@comcast.net / 678.315.0349.

    Community Hero Day
On Saturday, September 8th we hosted Community Hero Day at Luella High School. Community Hero Day was completely free to the public, and our goal was to honor local community heroes and create a high-quality environment in which children and their parents can interact with these heroes. We have started a new series entitled “Isn’t She Beautiful?” We always think of a bride on her wedding day as the most beautiful person in the world. Throughout the Bible, the church is often referred to as the bride of Christ. Although the reality is that often the church has gotten off track from the mission and has looked very ugly to the rest of the world. But there is nothing like the local church when the local church is working right. When the church is doing what Christ has called her to do and be, you just can’t help but say, “Isn’t she beautiful?”

  • New Series: The Gospel Brought to You by Sesame Street
Next week we will be starting a new series called “The Gospel Brought to You by Sesame Street.” Over the three weeks of the series, we’re going to simply and creatively tell the story of what God has done for us through his Son Jesus! It will be a great time to invite a friend or neighbor. You don’t want to miss it!

  • New Resources Available!
In case you hadn’t noticed, there is a new “Resources” tab on our website. In this section, you will find our Suggested Reading/Listening list, a Podcast link, our new Momentum Journal, and Wallpaper images. Podcasting will allow you to download our weekly messages as a podcast through iTunes, to listen to on your computer or MP3 player. Here’s how you do it:

    1. 1. If you don’t already have iTunes installed, go to www.itunes.com and select "Download" at the top, fill out the information that is required, then download and run the iTunes 7.1.1 setup file.
    2. 2. Make sure iTunes is open, and go to www.momentumcc.org/resources, and click "Podcast" under the Subnav.
    3. 3. This will automatically point you to the MomentumCC :: The Podcast home on iTunes, then just click the "Subscribe" button.
    4. 4. Once you are subscribed, click on the Podcasts navigation on the left side of iTunes, and it should automatically download the latest podcast, or you can choose to download archived podcasts by clicking the "get" button next to the one you want.
    5. 5. Be sure to write a review of our podcasts on iTunes, so that they are featured more prominently on the iTunes music store!

The Momentum Journal is just going to be a place for discussion and connection, with the Momentum staff posting random thoughts about life, and everyone else able to chime in with their two cents. Check it out!

We are beginning a new message series entitled, “What’s in a Name?” When you think of God, what picture pops in your head: a judge, a general, an old grandfather? For many of us those pictures have been formed by our experiences, our past, things people have told us, things we’ve seen through media, and sometimes their just our best guesses. Due to this, our view of God is sometimes not true to who he really is. Over the next 5 weeks we are going to try to form a true picture of who God is through the names he is called throughout the Bible. God doesn’t want us guessing anymore. The amazing thing is he’s the one trying to get our attention. And if we let him show us all of who he is, we can become all of who we were meant to be.
