At Momentum we call membership partnership. Membership tends to be more about the individual…but partnership is not about us! It’s all about partnering with God! In Matthew, Jesus invites us to join God’s mission for reaching the world – it’s a co-mission. At Momentum we want to partner with people as we partner with God in carrying out his commands to love God, love people and to introduce them to Jesus. It is our desire to live out what we believe, to be the Church. God calls us to an adventure. Not necessarily an easy one, but He promises to take the journey with us. We hope you’ll consider partnering with us.
Several times a year we offer “More on Momentum” which introduces people to Momentum’s story, its purpose, and how you can partner with us. For more info on this please email us at info@momentumcc.org.
MOMENTUM PARTNERSHIP EXPECTATIONS
Personal Growing Relationship with Jesus Christ: God wants a personal relationship with you through his son Jesus. Following Him means you daily have an intimate connection through prayer, reading His word, worship, sharing with others, and being aware of him in the daily routine of life. Purpose, meaning, and direction for life comes from God and His commands. This relationship begins with a profession of faith, the repenting of one’s sins, and the outward expression of obedience by being baptized by immersion.
Intimate Worship: Both personally (daily) and in the company of believers (regularly). Personal: we believe worship is an outpouring of our life to God for his glory. Corporate: we believe that Teaching and Worship go hand-in-hand - teaching can be a time of worship and worship can be instrumental to teaching. The Sunday experience seldom occurs without both teaching and worship in one form or another; whether it is through song or through silence. We expect every partner to be worshipping God through their life and to worship God regularly with others.
Spiritual Friendships: God is all about relationships. Smaller groups enable us to do life together providing encouragement, loving accountability, and integrity. We encourage every partner to be involved in loving, accountable, growing relationships with others. Life, the way God intended, was not meant to be done alone.
Family Faith: Home was the early church, supplemented by larger gatherings in the temple; but these larger gatherings were never intended to replace what began in the home. We expect every partner to be modeling what it means to be a follower of Christ at home first and foremost. Parents need to be the spiritual teachers of their children.
Servant Lifestyle: Love is more than a feeling. We live this life to serve as an outpouring of our love for God and others. We expect every partner to use the gifts and passion God has instilled in them to serve others in our community and to serve the body of Momentum.
Sacrificial Investment of Resources: We own nothing in this life. Realizing this truth, it is our hope to use what God has given us to help serve God and others. We believe all followers of Christ are called to give cheerfully of their time, finances and talents to help meet the practical needs of people who live around us and to His local church.
Faith-Based Conversations: You talk about what you love as an overflow of the heart. We believe that conversations about what God has done and is doing should permeate every part of our lives. We expect every partner to be looking for everyday, ordinary opportunities to share what Jesus has done for them and how a personal relationship with God is vital to life.
Partnership with the Church: We want to partner with God in whatever He’s up to and we look forward to partnering with people as we partner with God. When people become a part of Momentum we expect them to become an active partner in God’s mission not just merely a member.
Being a partner is being willing to be held accountable to the church in matters concerning relationship to God and to others. We will strive to maintain unity according to Ephesians 4 and practice Matthew 18:15-17 when dealing with relational conflict.
Momentum will also partner with other new churches to help grow the church multiplication movement.
